MSW Information Meeting

The Department of Social Work at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is holding an Information/Recruitment Meeting for prospective Master’s of Social Work (MSW) students from the Channel Islands area .  This meeting will be held on the Channel Islands campus, in the Distance Education Classroom, Bell Tower, Room 2572.  Parking is available on campus.

The Department of Social Work at CSULB has a long, successful history of Distance Education throughout the State of California, including three previous cohorts of students at our Channel Islands site.  Pending approval by various accrediting bodies, finalization of funding, and sufficient student interest, our next 3-year part-time MSW program is scheduled to begin on the Channel Islands campus in the fall of 2007.  All classes are on Saturdays.  Three academic years and two summers are required.  Most classes are offered via interactive television, with frequent in-person visits by CSULB faculty.  Field placements are arranged locally.  Stipends are available for public child welfare employees.

At the meeting, CSULB faculty and our local Site Coordinator Jo Ann Del Sardo will provide detailed information regarding the program, the admissions process, and the availability of funding for qualified students.

Additional materials, including our Admissions Application, brochures about our MSW program and financial resources, and a schedule of classes, are available through the Extended Education website here.
