During all business hours, there will be a tutor working who can help with math courses up to and including Calculus I. If you need help with another subject, please check to see which tutors have indicated they are comfortable tutoring that subject. If there are no tutors available, please contact the LRC Coordinator or the appropriate department.
Are you interested in helping others while you are perfecting your own math skills? Do your friends ask you for help with their homework? If so, you should consider becoming a tutor at the Learning Resource Center!
If you are interested in tutoring math, it is required that you have successfully completed mathematics courses up to and including Calculus II. The ability to tutor math-related subjects as well is a bonus!
If you are interested in tutoring a math-related subject only, such as statistics, please contact the LRC coordinator to discuss eligibility.
All prospective tutors also need a recommendation from a faculty member in their department, which can be downloaded from the link below. New tutors are expected to attend paid orientation and training. Tutors can work between 4 and 20 hours per week. For more information, please contact the LRC Coordinator at (805) 437-8921.
