CSUCI Exhibitions features ‘New Perspectives’ an exhibition of faculty art

Camarillo, Calif., May 2, 2007 – The new CSUCI Exhibitions gallery in Camarillo soon will feature “New Perspectives” an exhibition focusing on the recent work created by California State University Channel Islands Art Program faculty members. The exhibition will begin Thursday, May 10 and continue through June 7.

An artists’ reception will be held at the CSUCI Exhibitions gallery from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, and the public is invited to attend.

“New Perspectives” will consist of works in painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography and digitally generated imagery. Members of the CSUCI studio art faculty who will be exhibiting work include Jack Reilly, Matthew Furmanski, Liz King, Luke Matjas, Beverly Decker, Christophe Bourely, Amiko Matsuo, Larry Lytle, Denise Jones, Aldo Figueroa, Peter Harper, and Kathleen Quaife.

“This exciting exhibition presents the University community and Ventura County residents with the opportunity to view original, innovative artwork created by the CSUCI art faculty. This talented group are all practicing artists, recognized in their respective fields, in addition to being outstanding teachers,” said Jack Reilly, chair of the CSUCI Art Program.

A previous exhibition at the gallery was “Diverse Explorations,” which featured art work created by students of the CSUCI Art Program.

CSUCI Exhibitions is located at 92 Palm Drive in “Old Town” Camarillo, Calif., 93010. Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
