Religion and Homosexuality to be discussed at CSUCI event

Being gay and being religious are not incompatible—that is the argument of the panelists participating in the discussion “Another Look at Religion and Homosexuality” at 6 p.m. on March 8 in Malibu Hall 120 on the campus of California State University Channel Islands. The event is free and open to the public and parking is $6.

“Another Look at Religion and Homosexuality” is sponsored by CSUCI’s Center for Multicultural Learning and Engagement; the Multicultural, Women’s and Gender Student Center; the Gay Straight Alliance; and Campus Ministry. The event will provide an opportunity for the campus community and public to hear from panelists from three different religious traditions articulate arguments for the full inclusion of gay and lesbian persons within their respective faith communities.

Panelists for this event are Rabbi Michael Lotker, a Reform Jewish rabbi; The Rev. Dr. Glenn Libby, an Episcopal priest; and The Rev. Dr. Betty Stapleford, a Unitarian Universalist minister.
