Students Take Top Honors at Media Arts Festival

Camarillo, Calif., November 14, 2005 – Five California State University Channel Islands students won honors at the recent 2005 CSU Media Arts Festival, more than any other university in the statewide system. It is the third year in a row that CSUCI students have earned top honors.

The annual event allows CSU students to present their film, video, and interactive media work for critical review. CSUCI student winners are Christopher Paterson, “Project Mysterio Website” (http://www.projectmysterio.com), first place, interactive media category and winner of the top $500 Rosebud Award;  Charles White, “Los Angeles Toros Website” (http://www.latoros.com), second place, interactive media category; Jennifer Rhymes, “Jennifer Rhymes Portfolio Website” (http://www.lizking.tv/flash/rhymes), third place, interactive media category; Michael White, “Response,” third place, experimental category; and Brad Honda, “Jerome,” 4th place, documentary category.

Local industry professionals participated in the judging as well as leading seminars and workshops. Industry sponsors included DreamWorks, Warner Brothers Studios, From the Heart Productions, the Entertainment Industry Development Corporation, Modern Videofilm, and the International Cinematographers Guild.
