Enrolled students with sophomore status or higher who plan to attend the university and work at the center for the minimum of one year are invited to go to the CSUCI faculty job site and complete the on-line application. NOTE: this application is only available when the center is hiring new tutors. Barring unforeseen circumstance, the UWC only hires new tutors late in the spring semester with the tutors beginning to work in the subsequent fall semester.

Concurrent with the first semester of tutoring, all tutors are required to take a credit bearing (3 units) course in tutoring writing. New tutors register for the course after they have been hired and the time for the course is determined by the tutors and the UWC coordinator.
